Border guard towers at Dassow

You should not only be in Berlin for some of the finest abandoned watchtowers and barriers. The border zone also left its mark in the most northwestern city of the former GDR, Dassow, Germany.

Dassow is a stone's throw from Lübeck, where the German-German internal border started on the beach and plowed its way further inland, passing Pötenitz and Dassow, among others.

Nearby, another watchtower is in worse condition and completely overgrown.
