Forgotten wastewater treatment plant

On the former GDR border between West and East Berlin, you will find the forgotten remains of the wastewater treatment plant of a disappeared textile factory.

The wastewater was treated in a round aeration tank containing the (once) slowly rotating bridge that scraped the sludge from the bottom.

Textile factory

The former textile factory, Spinnstofffabrik Zehlendorf, was founded in the 1930s in the German capital Berlin. The factory itself has been completely demolished.

Teltow Canal

After the water from the textile factory was purified, it flowed through the old pump building into the nearby, heavily polluted Teltow Canal in Berlin.
