Station Mittenwalde Ost

Station Mittenwalde Ost

Shut down train station

Although you could once commute from Mittenwalde Ost station to Berlin and Zossen, the locomotives are only now making an appearance.

Mittenwalde is located just south of Berlin. From 1894 onwards, residents could commute to neighboring villages via the "Königs Wusterhausen-Mittenwalde-Töpchiner Kleinbahn" .

Connections to Berlin and Zossen followed later. Mittenwalde became a railway junction .

Closed up

It hasn't been that way for a long time: the lines were closed down one by one. No trains have passed here since the 1970s, only tourists on draisines.

You will now find a row of retired locomotives on the tracks.
