Dead end road in Strépy

In the shadow of the Strépy boat lift, an unused four-lane road leads to a freshly plowed field.

The 500-meter-long road bridges the regional road N552 via this useless bridge. The dual two-lane road was built to relieve the traffic congestion in the center of Thieu by circling to the north.

According to La Nouvelle Gazette, its construction dates back to the 1990s. However, the rest of the road was never completed. The bridge complex has been unused since then.
